In regards with accessing the pre-boot menu, have you tried to press the "X" button when the 1/8 appears on the screen?

Yes, that's how I entered in the preboot menu. Unfortunately there is no way to reinitialize the NVRAM there.

I partially solved installing another Jetdirect board, but I'm lacking all the advanced configuration options available with the formatter Jetdirect webserver.
