MFP M476dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The MFP M476dw always prints MS Word documents in duplex mode when more than 1 page is printed, even though "Print One Sided" is selected in the Print Menu and under "Printer Properties". Duplex occurs even when two copies of a single-page document is printed.

I have removed and reinstalled the print driver (LJPro-MFP-M476-Full-Solution-16077.exe) with no change.

Application software is Microsoft Word 2010 (14.0.7177.5000 SP2 MSO), Office Professional Plus. Note that I can save the same document in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), which will then print one sided, as is desired.

Is the problem in MS Word or in the HP print driver? Any assistance is appreciated!

Assuming that it is a driver fault (as alluded to by at least one of the above links), it may be worth changing the printer's own default setting for Duplex from On to Off.

Do this via the Embedded Web Server on the printer; this example is for a LJ Pro 400 Colour MFP M475dn, but I'd guess that the EWS on your model looks similar:

Update

Adobe Acrobat is now producing the same results as MS Word when printing more than one page at a time. Acrobat printed single pages the first job attempted in the above post, but now, just minutes later, prints jobs involving more than one page in duplex.

Changing the EWS setting did the trick! I can now print both simplex and duplex using the options in the print dialog box. Thanks very much for your help! 😉
