Laserjet 2000 M276, was working fine, suddenly get rear jam error, but nothing seen when opening rear door.  Printer resets but error comes up again.  Page prints except for very bottom margin area; same with test page.  Resetting printer does not help.  No evidence of paper or fragments in output or rear area.  Using std color copy paper with appropriate settings.  There is a clicking sound as printed sheet comes out.  Levers on either side of output move freely up and down.

it sounds like you could have a bad fuser assembly in the printer.  the paper has to pass through it on its way along the paper path.  the fuser film could potentially be ripped or just defective which can cause those clicking noises as it turns.  sometimes you can get a light shining in the back area, into the fuser.  See if theres anything like I just described above.

Thanks; I'll try to check it with a light.  Can I replace the fuser assembly, or do I have to take it in for service?  It is a unit I use at home and very heavy etc.  Are there instructions available anywhere to DIY?
