Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I recently installed an HP 1536 MFP for an employee via USB connection.  Most of the time, such as when printing out MS Word or Excel items, everything comes out normally.  She is also getting some printouts that are all black with white lettering.  I mean the black is almost the full page, not just a few places.  If she prints these out on another HP printer that is networked in her department, it will come out normally.  Not sure what might be causing this, was wondering if any suggestions.

Hi @michont

I understand that the issue persists. I suggest you uninstall the Printer Drivers again and reinstall the drivers using the Windows In-Built Drivers.

Please refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879 for help in using the Windows In-Built Drivers.

Try printing and check if that helps.

If the issue persists, please contact our Phone Support and our Support Engineers can Remote into your computer and help sort this out.

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

Thank you.

Hi @michont

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I understand that some printouts are coming out all black when printing from MSWord and Excel.

I'd like to help.

I suggest you start with a Printer Reset.

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Next, Uninstall the Printer Driver from Root level

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Restart your computer and download the Full Feature Software from Here

Try printing and let me know how it goes.

Thank you. 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions but none of this made any change in the printing.  Remember, most printing looks fine, it's just a couple things that don't and if sent to another printer, looks good.  This would lead me to think that the application settings are fine (from where she's printing).  Are there settings on the printer or in the software that may affect the way some things are printed?

Thank you, using the Windows built in driver worked.
