Hello!

I selected and enabled all the possible options for printing on both sides.

However, after the printer is done printing the even pages, the pop-up box instructing me to take the printed papers and put them in the paper tray just keeps poping up, even though I follow the steps accordingly.

The printer Just. Won't. Move.

It's incredibly frustrating, wasting so much paper and not being able to print on both sides.

This is a real deal breaker for me and I'm thinking of returning the product. This box will keep popping, even though I followed the steps and pressed the "Continue" button. This box will keep popping, even though I followed the steps and pressed the "Continue" button.

Hi @Dennysa24,

Thanks for visiting the HP community. A very good day to you! I read the post regarding issues with printing double-sided. I will be glad to assist you here. Splendid diagnosis and superb analysis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you check again by uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
  • What apps are you trying to print from?
  • Did you check the printer settings:
  • Did you try duple printing from multiple apps?

For now, please try these steps:

  • Please uninstall the printer software and drivers:
  • Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
  • Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
  • Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
  • Click on print server properties.
  • You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
  • Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
  • Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
  • It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
  • If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
  • Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
  • Restart the PC again.

Try duplex printing from multiple apps.

Also refer to the print driver settings from this link: http://hp.care/2CvWXYw  (HP Printers - Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

Please refer to these options

  • Paper type, size, and input tray settings.
  • Layout and formatting settings

Please select the proper paper size and check print preview also before printing.

Other things to try:

  • Try printing at from different apps. If other apps work fine, then uninstall and reinstall the specific app or MS Office and check again. It should get resolved.

Please check this link:  http://hp.care/2Cyoit5  to assist you with duplex printing. (HP Printers - How to Print on Both Sides of the Paper (Windows) (Duplexing)

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead. 🙂

Cheers!

Thanks for the fast response.

I followed all the steps indicated by you accordingly (removed device, deleted temporary files, reinstalled, restarted, everything).

I tried printing from MS Office (both Word and Powerpoint), from Adobe Reader and some e-mails from Google Chrome.

It keeps doing the exact same thing:

  1. it prints one side flawlessly (the even numbered pages)
  2. the pop up instructing me to insert the papers in the input tray appears
  3. I do exactly as instructed
  4. the window keeps popping and the printer does nothing (only the orange light keeps flickering).

I watched the video 2 times and some other videos, carrefully checked for the printer settings, paper settings etc.

But everything is the same.

Do you think it has something to do with my computer (Dell Inspiron 1545) or operating system (Windows 7 Ultimate, 2009)? Should I try installing the drivers on another device with a later version of Windows and see if it works from there?

I did as you adviced me, nothing changed.

I tried printing from MS Office, Adobe reader, Google Chrome.

After one side is done printing, the message instructing me to insert the papers in the input tray pops up, I click "continue" and it does absolutely nothing. Only the orange light keeps flickering and the message with "continue" popping again and again and again.

Should I try installing the driver on another device with a later version of Windows? This keeps flickeringThis keeps flickeringThis keeps appearing again and again and again, no matter how many times I press continueThis keeps appearing again and again and again, no matter how many times I press continue
