Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I decided to update firmware. Computer said printer's firmware was successfully updated but it rebooted and get stuck on the hp energy star logo.

I tried to:

1.Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
2.Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
3.With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
4.Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
5.Wait at least 60 seconds.
6.Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
7.Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
8.Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
9.Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent.

Tried that but it didnt work. Also i tried updating the firmware again but it say that it doesnt detect the printer.

Please, send me the steps to perform an NVRAM reset.

Thank you

Hi @FoMa1

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I appreciate you trying all these steps to resolve this issue. Updating the firmware should help in better performance of the printer. It seems like it did not go well in this case.

You are right, performing an NVRAM reset on the printer may resolve this issue.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
  • In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Thank you for replay.
I was able to start the 'permanent storage init.' procedure, but the display stuck on the HP logo and the 'permanent storage init.' written.
Is there any other procedure I can try?

@FoMa1

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'm afraid we have reached end of the line. I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
