@franbb222,

A warm welcome to the HP community and a very good day to you. I reviewed the post and will be immensely glad to assist you here. I see that this is your first visit here and it should be made a pleasurable experience. Superb description and great diagnosis of the issue.Kudos to you for that?

  • Did this occur after a recent power outage or surge?
  • Did it happen after a recent audio software or operating system update?
  • Please provide the complete model# and product# of the computer to assist you correctly.

Let's try these steps now:

  • Right-Click on start button> click device manager> expand sound video and game controllers>then select the sound drivers and right-click on it and uninstall the audio drivers. Then check the box delete the software for this device.
  • Then restart the computer and update the chipset and audio drivers from this link:  http://hp.com/drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Now check if the issue gets resolved.

Then check this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05299856 (HP PCs - Using the Bang and Olufsen Audio App) on how to configure and use the B&O app.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂
