I opened my laptop this morning and it started making a static noise out of the left speaker. I immediately restarted, thinking it would help. Upon startup the same static, buzzing noise happened again. It seemed to be happening randomly, but then I realized it was happening when I started a new task (opened a new program, a new tab, etc.) It only lasts for 2-5 seconds, but it's VERY annoying and loud. This laptop is a little over a year old and has had no other issues. Has anyone come across this static noise issue and found a solution?

So I called HP Support because I couldn't take it anymore. They walked me through a hard reset and then downloading the BIOS update. Seems to have resolved the problem!
