Envy 15-ae125TX
Linux

Dear community

My laptop model is HP Envy  ae125TX. i tired installing SSD drive and the installation went smoothly. after loading the OS it appears that there was no sound, i tired reinstalling the sound drivers multiple times and even reinstalling Ubuntu but nothing happened, i tired installing windows 10 and do the re installation of drivers but again nothing happened.

I thought it might be a compatibility issue, maybe the cruicial max 500 that i bought might not be compatible with my laptop. so i switched the ssd with HP SSD S7002.5 500 GB. but again the same problem with both ubuntu and windows

@Abdallah197,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand you are facing issues with the audio on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type audio troubleshooter, select Fix and find problems with playing sound from the results, then select Next.
  2. Select the device you want to troubleshoot and then continue through the troubleshooter.

You can also launch the troubleshooter from audio Settings. Select Start  > Settings > System  > Sound  > Troubleshoot.

Verify that all Windows Updates are installed

To check for updates

  1. Select Start  > Settings  > Update & Security  > Windows Update   > Check for updates.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the status says "You're up to date, go to the next tip.
    • If the status says "Updates are available," select Install now
  3.  Select the updates you want to install, then select Install.
  4.  Restart your PC and see if your sound is working properly.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@Abdallah197,

I recommend you uninstall the audio driver from the device manager and then download and install it from the below link.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers

Here is how it is done.

  1. Type "Device Manager" into the search field to open the device manager console.
  2. Expand the node that represents the type of device that you want to uninstall, right-click the device entry, and click Uninstall.
  3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
  4. When the uninstall process is complete, remove the device.

NOTE: On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
