So far, EVERY solution to installing/enabling Stereo Mix on my HP Pavilion Laptop (Model 15-cs0073cl) has essentially been a dead end!. This is a joke. I don't know why I purchase yet another HP after all these years. NOTHING but grief. This is such an essential piece to what I do, yet I cannot get this working on this ONE computer. Why is this so hard for HP to get right. NO other brand do I have these issue with. Can someone please give me a solution that actually works????? Please????

I have spent way too much time trying to fix this one problem.

Hey there! @ptsdon

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

On the taskbar right click on the audio icon and left click on sounds from the list select Recording tab, you may notice an option called Stereo Mix. If you don’t have this option, it means your sound card doesn’t support the feature. If you see the stereo mix option from the list right click on it and select enable then click on apply and click on ok to save changes.

Check if mono audio is enabled on the PC.

Click the Windows Start button and select the “Settings” icon. Next, choose the “Ease of Access” tile visible under the Settings window.

Now, click “Other options” in the sidebar and scroll down to the bottom of the window. There, you’ll find “Mono audio” option displayed in Audio menu. Set it to “OFF”.

Also, If you have audio issues uninstall the audio drivers from the device manager and install the latest version of audio drivers and BIOS using HP support assistant.

Is the loudness equalization off? If not, please:
Right, click the speaker icon
select 'Playback Devices'.
Highlight the default device
Click Properties
Click Enhancements tab
Next to 'Loudness Equalization' take out the checkmark in the box.
Click Apply
Click OK

Hope this helps!
