Is there anyway to use the jack on the right hand side of the laptop as a audio line-in?
Is there any other way to get audio line-in?

Nearly all current consumer notebooks do not have line-in, they have headphones/microphone combo jack which won't work as a normal line-in.
Option: use USB sound card. There are many around from $20 to $70. HP won't allow me to post those links, you can use Google and search for USB sound card with line in yourself.
Regards.
