I have recently purchased this laptop and today I tried to boot it to receive an error saying that there is no boot device found. When I run a hard disk check, it says SMART check failed and gives a failure ID. When I tried the automated chat bot, it says my laptop warranty is expired despite me only buying it a few weeks ago so I cannot phone the support chat! Any ideas how to fix this? 

 

Very frustrating as this laptop cost over £1000 and hasn’t lasted a month!

The warranty start date is when the PC is initially built at the factory.  Since PCs can sit on shelves or in warehouses for months before being bought, you have to REGISTER it with HP in order to reset the warranty start date to your puirchase date.

We can not do that for you from here, so you will have to contact HP Customer Support directly.
