Elitebook 840 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

How do I enable Legacy support in the BIOS on the EliteBook 840 G7?

On the G6, it was under Advanced - Secure boot Configuration, but I don't see the option here?

I see 'Secure boot Configuration' under Security but there's no option to enable legacy mode

Thanks.

Hello @DanKg

This is not possible anymore. G7 is HP's latest generation Elitebook configuration.

Your PC uses UEFI and due to Intel decision, since 2020 UEFI is completely replacing BIOS. All legacy options are no longer present due to Intel decision (primary). You may find more information what is BIOS and what is UEFI here

Intel decision announced in 2017 - details here >> https://www.zdnet.com/article/intel-were-ending-all-legacy-bios-support-by-2020/

Hope this helps
