HP Chromebook 14
Chrome OS

Yesterday I was jamming out to some music on my Chromebook until the little pop-up came up in the corner saying that the thing needed to be charged. Me, who was just normally thinking that it needed to be charged, but the plug into the socket by my bed at though it wouldn't charge at first, the orange one fht eventually cane on. Then it went off. I took the plug out and put it back in, tried several sockets, and yet it still wasn't working.

I let the thing drain it's battery so it could reset and start out fresh, but yet it wouldn't charge. I have tried to do a ec reset, and while it did show the Chrome logo, it then showed that the battery was dead afterwards and shut off. Note that I did this while the charger wasn't in. I've only had this thing for less than a full month and it's doing this. I've gotten a HP Windows laptop and it did the same thing after a few years, and I haven't been able to get back into it. Now I'm worried that the same thing will happen here. If anyone can provide help, it would be much appreciated.

Welcome to HP support community.

Try with a different charger if he you have one,

Or else, I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.
