HP Laptop bs070wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Laptop bs070wm wont boot up with the battery in. The power light will show on when battery is in but the screen shows no display. If I remove the battery and use the power cord to start it, eberything works fine.

@oldnlazy

If you insert the battery AFTER the PC is up an running using only the charger, does the PC stay working, or does it shut down?

IF it shuts down, my guess is that the battery has an internal short -- and there is really no way to test for that without running the PC and running tests from there.

I'm not aware of any test equipment that can troubleshoot a standalone battery -- as batteries are $50 items and are always simply replaced.

You could try getting a replacement battery if you can find someplace online that will let you return it.

You can also try these troubleshooting steps -- ignoring the one that tests the battery:

Good Luck
