Hi @AComputer1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To open the Windows Boot Manager on an HP Pavilion dv6-1140et notebook PC or any PC running Windows, you typically need to follow these steps.

  • Restart your computer: If your computer is already on, save your work and restart it. If it's off, turn it on.
  • Access the BIOS/UEFI: During the startup process, quickly and repeatedly press the key that brings up the BIOS or UEFI menu. For many HP computers, this is usually one of the following keys: Esc, F1, F2, F8, F10, F12, or Delete. The correct key is often displayed on the screen during the startup process (before Windows begins to load).
  • Navigate to Boot Options: Once you're in the BIOS/UEFI menu, look for an option related to "Boot", "Boot Options", or "Startup". The exact wording may vary depending on your BIOS/UEFI version.
  • Select Windows Boot Manager: Within the Boot Options menu, there should be an entry for "Windows Boot Manager". Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to highlight this option.
  • Boot from Windows Boot Manager: After selecting "Windows Boot Manager", press Enter. This should initiate the Windows Boot Manager, which allows you to choose which operating system or device to boot from. If you have multiple operating systems installed or multiple boot options, they will be listed here.
  • Choose your desired boot option: Use the arrow keys to select the desired operating system or device, then press Enter to boot from it.
  • Exit the BIOS/UEFI: Once you've made your selection and Windows starts to load, you can exit the BIOS/UEFI setup. Typically, you can do this by navigating to the exit options and selecting "Save and Exit" or a similar option. Ensure you save any changes you made, if prompted.

These steps should help you access the Windows Boot Manager on your HP Pavilion dv6-1140et notebook PC. If you're trying to access the boot options to troubleshoot startup issues or to boot from a different device (such as a USB drive), the Windows Boot Manager is the interface where you can make these selections.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
