Laptop going to power saving mode after 1 min or less

HP ENVY 17-k242nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello community:

I'm having troubles with my laptop, which is going to power saving mode after a very short time of inactivity. I have it configure to go to power saving mode after 5 min with battery and 10 if it's plugged in; but still, now it does it in like a minute or less, which is very annoying.

Recent changes: I work for very long times with it during school time, now I'm on holidays and I let it rest, but when I turned it on the problem  started. Only new change is that I installed Blender 3D, but the problem was before that.

I also passed from Windows 8 to Windows 10 some months ago, and since then my C drive is almost always full.

I'll appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks a lot,

irustyle

Hi @irustyle,

Welcome to the HP Forums! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.

I have read your post and wanted to help. I understand that you have a problem of the laptop going to power saving mode too soon.

Please check the power options settings again. Make sure the time of turning off monitor, hard drive, and going to sleep are longer than 10 minutes. Also, use the Power troubleshooter to fix the problem.

Let me know how it goes.
