Had a bios password and usb reset media, unfortunately forgot the password and the media seems to have failed.
Talked to HP support, they claim they need to replace the motherboard, as the bios password not covered in warranty.

If you leave the password blank and tap enter key 3 times-do you get a halt code? If so post the halt code and wait for someone to generate a passcode.

No, it requires me to enter something.
After 3 failures it asks to insert the SpareKey USB, from which it's unfortunate unable to read.
Is it possible to reset CMOS on this laptop, and what would be the procedure for it?
