My mousepad is working but the orange LED is glowing. How do I fix it?

Probook 4440s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I cannot figure out how the orange light started glowing  but my touchpad is working. If I am double tapping on the orange light, the LED turns off but the mousepad stops working. How do I bring it back to the default settings?

@pinz1

System:

HP ProBook 4440s Notebook PC

Perhaps you are not running on the Original Operating System?

That is, you have "upgraded" to Windows 10 from a different original Operating System version?

The Service and Maintenance Guide explains the amber light (original) default behavior on the TouchPad, Page 13.

5) TouchPad light

  • Amber: The TouchPad is off.
  • Off: TouchPad is on.

If you have not done so, download and install the Windows 10 compliant Driver for your MousePad:

Synaptics Mouse Driver
