@Gypsy2002

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the keyboard has been upgraded and you want to know about the light connector,

No worries as I'd love to help, however, I need a few more details to provide an accurate solution:

Did you check the user/service guide for the types of keyboard you can upgrade to?

If you haven't, here's your user guide with the details of the ZIF connectors as well as compatible parts: Click here to view.

Keep me posted,

If the information I've provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Thank you for your response. My keyboard is not back lit. I checked the user guide which you attached and it's not clear to me if I can upgrade to one that is. I found the right HP part number for the lit one in the guide but don't know if the system board that is installed in my notebook has the keyboard light ZIF connetctor to accomodate this upgrade.

@Gypsy2002

Thank you for the update,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I recommend you contact the HP phone support and confirm the same,

Normally the ZIF connector should be a part of the computer as shown on your user guide but it's best you confirm with a tech,

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number to obtain a case along with the phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts,

Mark my post as Accepted Solution.

And click on the Purple Thumbs up icon at the bottom of my comment.

Regards,
