Splendid effort and fabulous description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.
- Are the keys not responding on the keyboard?
- Did you try with an external keyboard?
- Please let me know the complete model# of the computer to assist you better.
For now please perform a hard reset from this link if it is a notebook: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768
Then try to run diagnostics again.
If it is a desktop perform a hard resort from this link: http://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c01463028
Then try to run diagnostics again. If this does not work, try with another keyboard to run diagnostics. The error message" boot device not found 3F0" clearly indicates that the hard drive is not getting detected. If the computer can be opened, try to reseat the hard drive. If it is a notebook with a sealed battery, please do not attempt it as it could void the warranty. If nothing works, please contact HP phone support to get the situation corrected.
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
