Computer O/S install

HP Recommended
Pavilion g6 A6Z64UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Failed HDD, replaced HDD and re-installed Win7 Home Primium. After O/S files have installed, starting systems starts, but goes into a re-boot loop. Checked the Diagnostic log, but do not have any info about results. Any help would be most appriciated.

I understand your laptop keeps restarting randomly.

 

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

 

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

 

Does the laptop restart when you are in BIOS?

 

Are you using the HP shipped discs or the retail discs to reinstall the image?

 

As you mentioned after replacing the hard drive on your PC the laptop keeps restarting randomly.

 

Try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.

 

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Also, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are working fine.

 

Refer this article to know more information about running system diagnostics on your PC.

 

If the hard drive diagnostics test passes on your PC.  Try performing a recovery using the recovery discs.

 

If you don't have a set of recovery discs. Please contact HP support and order a set of recovery discs.
