I understand that you have an HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g121wm. I read that you have installed an SSD because the original hard drive failed. You have installed Win10 and the high definition is not working.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

- Expand display adapters. Right click on the driver drivers in it and select uninstall.
- Close the device manager after the drivers are uninstalled.
- Restart the laptop.
- Now, please install the latest display drivers from this link.
- Yiu may restart the laptop one more time.
