HP Envy x360 15t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, i very recently just bought a Hp envy x360 15t. I had a system image downloaded from my old laptop and restored it. I installed windows and restarted. I login and my backround changed to the one in my system recovery but all the apps were the same.  checked my C drive and found this:"A" is a completely fresh copy of windows, B is all of my files from my old laptop,"A" is a completely fresh copy of windows, B is all of my files from my old laptop,

My question is, how do i get the files from B into my actual windows instead of the fresh windows "A" that came with my laptop. I dont want the files in "A" i only want the files in "B"

For reference each folder contains the following:This is the "Wndows.old.000" This is where all of my files and apps areThis is the "Wndows.old.000" This is where all of my files and apps areThis is the "Windows" folderThis is the "Windows" folderThis is the Windows.old.001 folder it only contains stock windows apps and files.This is the Windows.old.001 folder it only contains stock windows apps and files.

@Kapil3

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

Laptop images are not intended to be interchangeable, so what you did by migrating a different image to this PC was a bad idea.  I'm surprised it even worked, at all.

Second, the windows.old folders are created when you Upgrade a version of Windows to a newer version.  They are created with the intention of allowing you to rollback to the previous Windows version if you decide to do that.  But, they are not designed to have individual stuff extracted from them (which appears to be what you want to do), and the Windows Rollback feature (WHEN it works) is only designed to work for a few days.

So basically, I know of no way of migrating stuff from your different Windows.old folders into Windows -- nor should you, since those are old versions that a likely incompatible with your current Windows version.
