Windows update stopped my external cd/dvd player that I use for photos. It wont go to screen.

I already changed registry

C:\windows\system32> reg.exe add HKIM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atepi\Controller0 /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG

and

regedit

hkey local machine

command \CurrentControlSet

services \atepi

enter Controller0  <NEW tab> right click select New in box

New >dword (32 bit) Value

EnumDevice1

right click Controller0 key

Reg S2 default

EnumDevice1

Update value data box = 1 ok

So the drive is working now still not going to screen when loaded. no dvd icon or drivers showing. device is Cocopa dvd with usd3 connector.

Was this a routine windows update, or was it a version update?

Windows Updates are known to automatically install driver changes without your knowledge or permission.
