This modem driver should work:

Thanks for the reply Paul.

Sp32825 worked for the "Richo Media Cards Host Controller"

That was the 3 "Base System Devices"

The "Modem Device" still will not install.

I have never ran into this problem with a HP laptop before.

For the future should I use the series# or model#???

Or both???

Thanks again for your time.

You're very welcome.

The model number was fine.

That modem is a very hard one to get, I'm afraid.

It is a conexant modem but a very off the wall model.

As a last ditch resort, try this one...

Thanks CherylG. That was the last one."SP32210" How do I split the Solution between you and Paul??? Thanks to you both.

Hi:

You can give the solution to Cheryl.  That is just fine with me.

I wonder though why the version of the modem driver Cherly posted worked, when I posted the same named driver, but a different sp #?

Oh well...the mysteries of drivers...

Best regards,

Paul

Like I said before I have never ran into this problem on an HP.

I will give it to Cheryl.

You are a true gentleman and a scholar.

Thanks again to you both.

You are a gentleman Paul, Congress or no.;)

The Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem is a newer modem driver than the AC-Link modem driver, and for machines with Hd Audio which replaced the older AC-Link audio...I think that is the correct description. Either way happy it worked for the dv1000 in this thread.
