Battery Needs to be Calibrated

HP Recommended
HP Laptop 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ran the battery test from HP Support Assistant. Results of test say battery has to be calibrated, but I cannot run laptop without the ac cord. tried to do so with ac cord and got software error with no code.

@NBrown8568,

You might want to take a look at this documnet : https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04700771

This helps you to caliberate the battery.

Please explain.

Is the battery that "weak" that your computer will not run strictly on battery power?

If Windows is up and running, and you disconnect the AC cord, does the computer immediately power-off or "die" ?

If so, it's time to replace the battery.  Any "recalibration" will just confirm that the battery needs to be replaced.
