Compaq cq57, building into a pc.

Product Name: Compaq preserio cq57
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My compaq has been abused, smashed about, and overused for six years now. It's still alive though, and this post was posted by it.  No matter what I do, the 57 refuses to die. One time, the fan stopped working, but then after a week it turned on again. However, as much of a tank it is, It's time for it to retire. I was wondering if either:

A: I could strip parts from the compaq to build a PC  -or- B: build the compaq into a different, better PC

Re: Compaq cq57, building into a pc.

What exactly are you picturing? The laptop has a motherboard and processor. You could attach an external screen and monitor and keyboard and mouse and have a "PC". There is no significant upgrade to be done to it to make it into something faster, stronger better. It is not Steve Austin, the 6 million Dollar Man.
