HP Pavilion 15.6 au107-na keyboard (non backlit) replace with backlit keyboard

hi All

I bought this laptop a week ago http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/product.aspx?sel=NTB&id=Z5D55EA&opt=ABU

and now looking to replace the non-backlit keyboard that came with it, to a backlit keyboard from a related but different pavilion notebook ( http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=X8M57EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB)

edit : i found this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-PAVILION-15-AB-15-AB010TX-15-AB297TX-UK-KEYBOARD-BACKLIT-9Z-NC8BQ-60U-N...

Would it be possible?

I have been going through the forums, couldnt find any info on the laptops but saw some related threads on other models... any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks a lot

Hi,

Your bulbs at home need power to light up, otherwise they are dead bulbs. Same for backlit keyboards, a backlit keyboard alone won't do anything, you need a motherborad which has all connectors for keyboard lights.

In you case, you may need to buy a new different motherboard (if available).

Regards.

Thanks for the explanation, I dont know how to find out if my motherboard can indeed support a backlit keyboard or no, that was one of the primary reasons for my post here. Are you definitively saying that this model cannot support it? I'd stick with what I have then.  Please do confirm.

Also is there any way to find out (per model number) the whole h/w guide of your laptop? thanks in advance
