HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC 14-dy0000 IDS Base Model

How do I upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10? Why does HP and Windows make this so cumbersome?

Hi:

Your HP Pavilion X360 14 Convertible PC 14-Dy0000 IDS Base Model already came with W10 from HP.

If you have a different PC you want to upgrade to W10 from W7, you can do it like this:

Make a bootable USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.

Use your notebook with W10 to do that because the tool no longer works on W7 or W8.1 unless you make some changes to the Windows registry.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

After you create the W10 USB flash drive, plug it into the PC you want to upgrade to W10.

Do not boot from the flash drive.

Open the flash drive in Windows explorer and double click on the Setup application you see in the list of files on the flash drive to begin the upgrade process to W10.
