Thank you for your response. I'm just confused as to why the HP employee gave this number to the victim just yesterday if it is no longer a good number. I will email at the asig@hp address.

Hey Sarge,

 

I solved that mystery.  There is a process document used by our callcenter agents that provided the phone number and instructed it be given to any law enforcement or crime victim that contacted technical support.  This document was updated yesterday to reference the email only.

 

I'm really sorry for the runaround.  Hopefully, next time there won't be any confusion for the next person.
