HP EliteDisplay S140u
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I just bought an HP EliteDisplay S140u but it seems to be in permanent sleep mode? When I connect the monitor to my laptop, it shows the HP logo on the screen and then goes blank. The power button is lit up orange while it is plugged in but turns off when I unplug it. The laptop does not detect the second monitor at all and I'm not sure if it's due to being in sleep mode or something else. Also, the power button does not respond at all. It doesn't let me manually turn it off or on, the only way to get a response is to plug it in or unplug it.

I've tried installing and uninstalling the S140u driver, USB drivers, and the main display drivers on my laptop, no dice. I've tried using an adapter to go to a different port on my laptop, no dice. I've tried changing my laptop's power saver modes to see if it was somehow making the monitor sleep, nothing.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

Sounds like both of them don't know each other. What is your machine and how do you connect them ? You may need driver/software for it

I have an HP Spectre x360. The connecting cable is a Micro-USB to USB-C.
