Spectre machines are not on the compatible list

That means they are not compatible. I would like to see HP and other vendors develop one-size-fit all docks or al least each dock can cover for a class of machines.

 

I'm using Dell docks which cover few generations of Dell machines.  I also use some USB 3.0 DisplayLink Certified docks from other vendor to connect to my HP machines.
