HP studio g5 convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have a HP studio g5 360 convertible. I recently purchased an portable monitor. It is a Lenovo Thinkvision m14t.

The m14T is portable screen that has a touchscreen and works with an active pen, much like the g5. It connects through usb c.

I have confirmed that the m14t is in good condition and working. I have connected it to a Lenovo Thinkpad and the screen responds to touch. Its basically plug and play. No drivers installed.

Now if connect the m14t to the g5, the screen works, but windows does not respond to touch. The built in menu of the m14t does respond to touch, its specifically windows that doesn't respond.

The g5 has the latest bios version.

Things ive tried:

- reset windows

- updates

- drivers for thunderbolt, usb, graphics drivers

- drivers for the m14t

But the windows operation system still doesn't respond to touch.

Another thing. When the screen is connected. I get a pop-up from hp saying: 'the device is requesting more power than the port can provide'. I checked the power output of the port with my phone and the app Ampere. The output seems to be the same as the thinkpad. So its weird to get this message.

What is going on and how it can be fixed?
