Chromebook x360
Chrome OS

Last August my old laptop crashed at the beginning of the semester leaving to have to buy a new one. I love chromebooks and the simplicity of them. And I purchased the new hp x360 laptop. I absolutely love it.  But recently it started making a really loud buzzing noise, that is very irritating. It sounds almost like the static on an old tv or something. Sometimes it will also lose my mouse & not be able to locate it while I’m in the middle of an assignment. Luckily I am able to use the touchscreen when this happens but it’s very inconvenient. The laptop is only a year old so it should not be having these issues.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

If your touchpad isn’t working, test the keypad after each of these steps:

  • Make sure there is no dust or dirt on the touchpad.
  • Press the Esc key several times. Drumroll your fingers on the keypad for 10 seconds.
  • Turn your Chromebook off and on again.
  • Reset your Chromebook. Delete the account on your Chromebook that has touchpad issues, then re-add the account.
  • Contact your Chromebook manufacturer if none of these steps works.

To start here are some documents that may be able to help you:

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
