Hi, my screen flashes black occasionally, just a flicker but annoying all the same, my laptop is only a cou[ple of months old, thanks in anticipation.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • Have you checked the display on external TV or monitor?

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

Let's perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. 

Also, boot the computer into the Bios screen and check if the screen flickers.

  1. Turn off your computer
  2. Make sure you have connected the power cable
  3. Turn on your notebook, as it is starting press the  F10 button repeatedly. if the issue appears on the BIOS screen. if you see screen flickering in bios then it's a hardware related issue.

Also, you can check the display on an external monitor or TV.
