HP Pavilion 14-ce0101ng 14" Full HD IPS
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I'm all happy with my HP Pavilion 14-ce0101ng 14" Full HD IPS but not with the ability to use a USB-C Hub with at least two USB connectors and another HDMI slot.

I tried https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B076ZN8KWZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07FRZCLGB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 both not working.

Anybody mind giving me another link to a device supporting my needs?

Or any other advice what I need to look out for? DP Alt Mode is what I leard to look for but the first link already has that.. so I'm pretty much out of ideas:)

Thanks everyone

Simon

I would contact HP Tech Support to get it repaired. Your not the only person with this problem. I just saw another post for a Pavilion with the same problem.

So they need to physically touch the hardware to do that??

Really?

Brand new built...?

Yep. Just see what I am going through:

To be fair, tech support want's to isolate exactly what's going on, which can be complicated today. However, my experience is most of over the phone support has little to no clue about specific USB C specs & little motivation to resolve a problem. It took me contacting the Executive Escalations & I'm still pretty concerned that they will not fix my problem. However, just take your HP to Best Buy and ask to test out a USB C hub with HDMI out & say your shopping around. That will tell you pretty quick if it's the hub or laptop. You could also test the hub on other laptops on the floor, but that would probably not happen, since a tv would have to be next to it. I doubt a sales person would care enough to help.

well thanks I guess... not too satisfying hm... 🙂

What about HP Support directly? Do they have any official expenation/statement? Or simply not caring is supporting enough style?

I'd at least love to have an HP statement on supported devices... Not even sure if the HP own devices would work...

Per your specifc laptops USB C specs, you should have no problem and I would advise you continue to look around until you find a USB C hub that works properly. I just purchased this USB C hub that works great for me.

As far as HP's overall tech support quality, I haven't had the best experience and other people seem to have similar concerns. My concern is that HP is not adequately training it's consumer tech support as a cost-saving measure, but the result is consumer frustration that will drive them to other brands. I'm not going to buy another HP if HP doesn't take their support seriously. 😕
