Will my DVD drive write or is it read only ?

Hello, I have a HP Pavillion laptop with a SU208GB DVD drive fitted...can I use this to download a copy of windows 10 64 bit home edition for use in an old desktop I have which was running windows 7 home edition 64 bit ?  The old Seagate hard drive 1tb will no longer boot so I am replacing it with a Samsung 860 EVO SSD, but need to do a fresh install of windows...I believe I can use the original Windows 7 certification of authenticity number and Microsoft will allow me to download a copy of windows 10....help appreciated !

I use AnyBurn and it should be able to write 4.5 and 9.0 GB DVD's.
