my new wireless monitor connects fine to my envy 17 laptop....   but limited to 30Hz / 4k.  Takes about an hour to work out to use the HDMI connection to same monitor, using supplied HDMI cable, but display then is much lower resolution... baffled!  Help appreciated

just to clarify....    seems the laptop will only find the wireless monitor if it's already found it using wireless. Obviously this is a problem if the wifi is down. If wifi is off it won't detect display. Sometimes I would prefer to use the 60Hz / 4k wired display (4k video jerky using wireless)

hi

it's HP ENVY - 17-bw0000na, Product number: 4GP38EA#AB

Wireless monitor is U27 4k.  I guess my astonishment is that simply plugging in HDMI from laptop to monitor doesn't seem to detect the monitor!  Thanks for any advice!

ok sorted... didn't realise I had to chnage the Input to HDMI on the monitor.... all working as expected now.  Thanks for response!   What a great device and superb value   cheers Chris
