Laptop cannot detect wireless printer

My laptop cannot detect the wireless printer.  When I firest got the laptop in Nov 2011 it detected the Canon wireless printer just fine.  Recently it dropped service and I removed the printer from devices and tried to re-add.  What I've done so far:

Confirmed printer is connected wirelessly to Access Point (SSID and IP address)

Confirmed laptop is connected wirelessly to AP and gets to internet

Used Win 7 wireless detection in "Add Printer" - failed

Reinstalled Cannon printer software and used Cannon detection utility - failed

Used Win 7 manual "Add Printer" using TCP/IP and entered IP address listed by printer on wireless settings -failed

Restored laptop to a time when it actually had been detecting and using the wireless printer - failed

Used HP utility to refresh DCHP - failed

Confirmed that another HP laptop in my home connects just fine with the Cannon wireless printer using Win 7

Turned off router for 10 minutes, restarted and retried detection techniques - failed

The AP is a Super G network router.  Laptop is N, G, or B.  Printer is N, G, or B.

HP Pavilion dv7-6b32us Entertainment PC

Win 7 Home 64-bit

No errors

No changes to system other than Win 7 and HP updates
