I have been having this exact same issue since the most recent system update.  My Pavilion G7 doesn't even say that it is wireless capable.  The only way I was able to get on here to check for updates or patches was to hard wire to my wireless router with an ethernet cord.  This community page is full of this same issue, all occurring in the last week or so.  Clearly there is an issue with the update.  We shouldn't get a run around from the website or support phone number to get it fixed or be charged for the support.  There needs to be a repair available immediately.
