Error when trying to factory reset?

HP Recommended
Hp stream 11 (energy star)
Hi, im new and cant figure a way around this....
I couldnt log in to my notebook as it said my password was wrong 😕 so i tried a factory reset only to be met with the message "error a factory reset could not be performed at this time". I even saved a restore copy on my usb stick so that i could do factory reset as i had heard there were many issues with the stream 11 but even when trying to go through that option i get the same thing or it does not recognise my device. Has anyone else had this? Or know of a way to fix it as at the moment im stuck with a notebook i cant use...

Try booting from the recovery USB by pressing F9 when powering up and run the recovery utility directly from the USB.  If it does not boot, you may have to disable secure boot in the BIOS setup menu.
