Hp Pavilion dv7-7023cl
Hi, I have a HP Pavilion dv7-7023cl laptop

Upon startup a blue box appears telling me "Enter Administrator password or power on password"

The System Disabled code I recieve after 3 tries is: 65313517

Please help.

Question: What caused the blue box with the admin password request to appear?

You're very welcome.

 

Usually it is because someone put a power on password in the BIOS's security menu.

 

If you know that could not possibly have happened, unfortunately, I wouldn't know how or why that happened.

Ok thanks. Still not sure I understand why it suddenly appeared. I have had the computer for several years now and that never came up before upon startup. Thank you for your help.
