No:

Do you think it is worth giving it a try in XP compatibility mode?

You should test all compatibility modes.

This driver was made for Vista and XP.

Before every new installation uninstall not working driver.

Hi, Daniel:

I attempted installation in all relevant compatibility modes and no luck. I give up.

I even tried the newer driver and that didn't work either (2.0.0.0.9).

Thanks for the suggestions to run in compatibility mode.

This driver doesn't work on many models.

I must admit then I even don't remember any model which worked with it correct.

I will tag this thread and try to find time to test this driver on my own models (maybe even till end of this week). It will take me some time because this models have now only XP and Linux systems.

Ps.

I think I know you from HP Business Forum, but I'm not sure of it.

Genius.  I was prompted for a "tifmicon.dll" file reference after it detected the new hardware.  However, I "cancelled" the prompt and it works perfectly well enough without any further effort.  If only I'd stumbled across this message 5 hours ago...  Thanks for sharing your insight -- PAT

I have a HP PAVILLION PV5000.

It was running windows 7 and one day it crashed so i reinstalled windows 7 once again but now this time when i insert my SD  card it will not read it when before it did.  i have searched and found no option on how to fix the problem.  i have install the storage drivers for in from HP but it still does not work.

PLEASE HELP, please.

All i can suggest unless someone else says  different, is to remove/uninstall the device in Device Manager if Win7 has it. Then restart the laptop and then reinstall the device manually in Add Hardware Wizard in Control Panel again if Win7 has it, unless during the restart, the system automatically reinstalls the device itself where it say "New Device Found" etc.

My NC6320 has a card reader at front for SD-MS/PRO.MMC.SM.XD Cards.

OS= XP Pro + SP3

It appears not to be working when a SD Card is inserted as nothing shows up as a 'removal drive' as if when I insert a flash or external hdd drive into USB.

Any tips of what to check for if it's working or of any software or drivers needed. And where to find this in the Devices.

thanksn

not working now

Hi, Doko:

Try this driver from the nc6400. It is the latest version.

If you can't get the thing to read, most likely the read head is bad.
