I have an HP 2000 Notebook PC and just downloaded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and now I am having problems connecting to the internet from my Start Screen. I can go to my Desktop view and connect to the internet from there. I can not access any of my apps from my Start Screen. I just want to go back to Windows 8, can I do that by resetting my computer to yesterdays date?

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of your computer, inside the battery compartment or on the startup BIOS screen. Please DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
Setting the date back or restoring the computer to an earlier date will not work. You can try Restoring, Refreshing, or Reseting Your PC using the instructions provided in this link. If none of these work, you will need to use the HP Recovery media you created when you first setup your computer. If you didn't create the HP Recovery Media, please contact official HP support in your region / country, via the HP Worldwide Support Portal, to see if HP Recovery Media is available for your computer.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
