For unknown reason I cannot update bios on my ProBook G2 430. Last one was 1.09 and all next updates gives me the same error - "Unable to find signatures files". As I see in log HPBiosUpdate.Log there was no any signatures files in previous updates. For example:

Yeps, it works fine with updating BIOS. I have now 1.16 and trouble with Winmagic 🙂

After updating Winmagic now didn't start window with password asking. After loading just blank screen 😞

I am already got SDWmgRecovery package.

Created UEFI flash and trying to do all as mentioned here:

So, now steps how to fix it:

  1. create bootable USB/DVD media with WinPE
  2. unpack and store SDWmgRecovery somewhere (USB flash)
  3. copy key to the same place
  4. boot with WinPE (takes a while, be patient)
  5. first of all, run TB Launcher/SD Recovery
  6. expand your hdd with all the partition and check Lock column
  7. select those with Lock as true (one by one)
  8. click Unlock and enter your password or open a key
  9. back to TB Launcher, open a file manager to check which disk letter belongs to Windows (eg. “d:”)
  10. open Console
  11. type bootsect /nt60 c: /force /mbr
  12. type bcdboot d:\windows /s c:
  13. reboot

but unsuccessful (

In point

11 type bootsect /nt60 c: /force /mbr

system said that havent access

also cannot find any SECURDOC.WMG or WinMagicSECURDOC.WMG or any files with wmg extension to trying to fix it.

Any idea how to fix boot?

UPDATE

SECURDOC now in F:\WinMagic\SECURDOC.999

after fixing it with SDWmgRecovery, OS finally starting. But... only in safe mode. In normal mode its stucking before asking password for user.

Starting system in safe mode and got new problem with HP Security Client. - dpfpapi not initialized and my password unrecognized...
