Hi @EAJ369,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is reporting a paper jam but there is no visible jammed paper, and the ink cartridges are also not moving, it could indicate a more serious issue with the printer's hardware or internal components. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot this problem:

Step 1: Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Unplug the printer from the power source and wait for about 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Step 2: Check for Obstructions

  1. Open all access doors and panels on the printer to visually inspect the paper path and internal components.
  2. Look for any obstructions such as torn paper, debris, or foreign objects. If found, carefully remove them.

Step 3: Manually Move the Carriage

  1. Ensure the printer is powered off.
  2. Gently move the ink cartridge carriage by hand to see if it moves freely along the carriage path.
    • If the carriage does not move freely, there may be a mechanical issue that requires professional repair.

Step 4: Reset the Printer

  1. Perform a Hard Reset:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Step 5: Check Ink Cartridge Installation

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and securely seated.
  2. Remove and reseat each ink cartridge to ensure they are properly aligned.

Step 6: Clean Paper Rollers and Carriage Path

  1. Clean the Paper Rollers:
    • Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to clean the paper rollers.
    • Roll the rollers with your fingers to clean them thoroughly.
  2. Clean the Carriage Path:
    • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the carriage path where the ink cartridges move along.
    • Remove any dirt or debris that may be obstructing the path.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
