hp8620
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pc consistently loses its connection with my HP8620 which is wired to the network.  it says printer not found or not connected-- BUT scanning form the same printer works fine.  If I turn off and turn back on the printer it will print the queue with no issues and then a little while later it loses the connection.

Other OPcs and even my iphone have no issues- so its not the network conenction--

This is very frustrating

PLEASE HELP

Hi @bskesq

Firstly, update the firmware of your printer:

HP Officejet Pro 8620/8625 e-All-in-One Printer Firmware

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/OJP8620_R1640B_updated.exe

After update, restart the printer.

Now, use the scan doctor for corrections and diagnostic:

HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe

I hope that helps !

The software and firmware is all up to date.

Once I restart the printer it works fine -- after a few hours of inactivity the connection is lost again
