How do sort out colour management issues for the PhotoSmart 8180 printer?

HP Recommended

I am trying to print photos from my digital camera and would like to use the AdobeRGB colorspace setting on my camera but when I print from Photoshop it always asks me to control the colour management through the laptop and adjust settings on the printer to allow this but I have never been able to work out how to do this.  It's also compounded by the fact that I have never been able to get the HP printer management program to work properly, so it prints but won't scan and I cannot open the HP software to sort it out.  I realise this is probably two questions!  I am running Windows 7 Premuim Edition and as far as I can tell all is up to date.  I use Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 to manage my photos and both of these programs have an option to control the colour management.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

Genearlly speaking, color management is an aspect of the program you are using. I would consut the maker of the program the issue the originates from.

Thanks for this but actually the issue is about the fact that the HP software won't install to use the printer properly.
