HP LASERJET P1102w
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I just changed my modem/router and my network name but my laser jet won't connect wirelessly now.  Everytime I get to the HTML config page-> Networking -> Wireless... I hit Enable, press OK to update, then go to my network name, chnage it, put in the WPA and safari can't find the local host.  Somebody help me haha!  My printer won't accept the new network and I've gone back to original settings by hitting the wireless and the X keys but that doens't work either.  I've tried to link the  printer to my macbook via USB connection wires bit nothing works.  I can't waste much more time with this.  I need some advice please.  Thank you!

Hello, @salibaba316 – Hope you are well 🙂

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I understand that you are having issues while connecting the LaserJet printer to the network. I will certainly do my best to help you fix the issue 🙂

Let’s first reinstall the printer using the USB cable. Follow the steps below:

  • Uninstall the old printer drivers first. Follow the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2cKwLyC
  • Now run the Apple Software Update. Check here for steps: http://hp.care/2cNgw3C
  • Restart your computer and printer.
  • Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
  • Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
  • Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
  • Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
  • Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
  • Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
  • Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
  • Click the “Add button” (+).
  • Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
  • Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)

Now, update the printer firmware. Go to http://hp.care/2c2RJvm Expand the Firmware option and then download and install the Firmware update. Restart the printer once done.

Now, go to http://hp.care/2fEcM3x expand “Connect the printer to a wireless setup using a USB connection” and follow the steps under “Step 3”.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂
